WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- In Waukesha, six people battling cancer received a holiday surprise on Sunday, Dec. 22.
They got help dealing with the financial challenges that come with expensive medical care. The surprise happened at Walmart on West Ave.
Recipients were told they would be getting a $250 gift card, but instead, they got a whole lot more.
"It makes me feel good, especially when it's unexpected. You just never know, with the world today, there's a lot of things going on and there's kindness out there. And you don't see it often and it's nice to actually be a recipient of it," Kristina Heimsch, Random Act of Kindness recipient.
Each recipient got a gift bag from the store and a check for $5,000, thanks to the This Time Tomorrow Foundation.
