33-year-old identified in fatal Milwaukee shooting near 71st and Appleton

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Authorities have identified the 33-year-old man who was shot and killed Wednesday evening on Milwaukee's northwest side.

According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office, the victim was identified as Davonci S. Hennings.

The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. in the 7100 block of West Appleton Avenue. Hennings was struck by gunfire and died at the scene.

Police are investigating what led up to the shooting and are searching for an unknown suspect or suspects.
