28 Unlocked Cars in Mequon were Entered by Criminals in 4 Day Period

Nearly 30 cars have been entered in Mequon from July 3 to July 6, according to Mequon Police.

Entries occurred on July 3,4, 5 and 6. 

Capt Buntrock said the items taken are general cash, electronics and credit cards. 

He said several credit cards have been used in the City of Milwaukee. 

 In all cases the cars were unlocked.

The incidents occurred in subdivisions located in the area between the Milwaukee River and Port Washington Rd. 

The entries have occurred in the late evening and early morning hours, 11:00PM to 3AM. 

According to police, people have seen and heard people and have heard car doors being opened and closed.  They have also heard other noises that would alert them to the fact that people are outside including dogs barking and have failed to call the police.
