24 Animals Found During Animal Neglect Investigation

On Friday, October 16, the Caledonia Police Department executed a search warrant at 6848 Highway 38 for an animal neglect investigation. Caledonia Police were assisted at the scene with the Wisconsin Humane Society and the Namaste Equine Rescue organization.
A total of 24 animals, including birds, small animals and cats were surrendered to authorities. The incident remains under investigation.
One person was arrested for mistreatment of animals. It is anticipated that charges will be forwarded to the Racine County District Attorney for animal neglect.
