2 students arrested for bringing BB guns to school, police said

MADISON, Wis. (WISC) -- Two high school students were arrested this week for bringing BB guns to school.

The educational resource officer at La Follette High School arrested the students, ages 15 and 16, Wednesday, according to a news release from the Madison Police Department.

The weapons were in the students' backpacks, but they ran outside following a disturbance and hid them near a fence around the lunch hour. The officer found the look-alike weapons, according to the release.

The teens were charged with having a dangerous weapon on school premises.
