Christian Castro Veloz is facing charges of second-degree reckless homicide and two felony counts of driving with a suspended license.
Police say on March 5, Castro Veloz ran a red light and crashed into another car on the 16th Street Viaduct.
The car had seven people in it.
A 42-year-old man died, the others were all injured.
If convicted of all three charged, he could face more than 30 years in prison.
