GRAFTON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A California woman is now charged in the stabbing death of a Grafton man.

Police say 18-year-old Crystal Gutierrez stabbed 34-year-old Brent Fitch to death early Friday morning at a home near Spring Street and 9th Avenue.

According to the criminal complaint, an Ozaukee County Sheriff's dispatcher got a call from a woman in California around 2:20 a.m. on May 3. The woman told the dispatcher she received a text from her daughter who was asking for help at a Grafton address.

Police then began searching the area and found a young woman, later identified as Gutierrez, running and screaming for help. At the time, Gutierrez was said to be wearing only a T-shirt and was covered in blood.

She told police she had woken up, "the family was standing around her," and that she stabbed Fitch with scissors and a knife and that he was dead. Police later found Fitch's body in a bedroom at his home.

It's not clear how Gutierrez knows the victim.

Gutierrez was in court on Monday. Her parents were in the courtroom.

Her bail has been set at $100,000 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday.
