Quiet early Friday ahead of a wet weekend

NOW: Quiet early Friday ahead of a wet weekend
NEXT:

We begin this Friday with quiet and dry conditions that are short-lived as widespread soaking rain is expected for the weekend.

Light showers are expected to arrive by the late morning and turn to heavier showers by the late afternoon.  Scattered showers will hold for this evening and then overnight, before the heaviest rainfall of the system becomes widespread and enters by early Saturday morning.  With a slight increase in dew point temps here, some of the showers could turn into a thunderstorm, but nothing is anticipated to become severe as we hang on to cooler temps into the 60s for the next week stretch.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms turn more scattered for Saturday afternoon and evening, but rain chances still persist.  Rain will hold even into Sunday morning and afternoon before wrapping up to finish the weekend.  By this point we can accumulate anywhere from 1-2" for most and up to 3.5" for some localized areas.

Another rain chance is possible again Monday, before we dry out starting on Tuesday.
