18 Milwaukee businesses warned for mask violations; 1 restaurant fined $1,500

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Health Department has had to get more aggressive enforcing its citywide mask rule.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said a number of businesses in the Walkers Point area have been warned and Fiesta Café has been fined $1,500. The city's health department says Fiesta Café received three citations. The restaurant was cited on Aug. 6. One day after, the city sent a warning letter. CBS 58 reached out to Fiesta Café for comment but have not heard back. 

"My personal goal is not to ding anybody, our goal is to have people comply with the ordinance, and the best way to make sure that you're not going to get penalized is to comply with the ordinance," said Barrett.
