12 applications received for MPD chief position
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Griselda Aldrete, executive director of the City of Milwaukee Fire & Police Commission, said 12 applications have been received for the Milwaukee Police Department chief position.
Aldrete said the goal is to have the final candidate identified and potentially voted on by the Commissioners at the Dec. 3 FPC meeting.
In a statement on how the process will move forward, Aldrete said the commissioners will be involved in screening the candidates who applied by the deadline of Sept. 11 over the next couple weeks.
At the Oct. 1 FPC meeting, commissioners will be announcing the top five candidates and set interview dates with those candidates, according to Aldrete.
"Community input will be gathered between the months of October and November. A minimum of two community meetings will be scheduled for the candidates to answer community question," Aldrete said.
