Garage considered a total loss after fire in Waukesha
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 10-year-old’s quick thinking during a family emergency is being recognized. He’s being called a hero by many.
10-year-old Ryan was awarded the Waukesha Fire Department Citizen Commendation Award.
Last month Ryan called 911 when his Dad fell off a ladder while putting up a basketball hoop. Ryan stayed calm, explaining to dispatchers that he first tried to go to his neighbors, but no one was home.
After the Paramedics dropped Ryan’s Dad off at the hospital, they returned to help put up the basketball hoop.
Ryan was honored in front of 300 other students at Hadfield Elementary as well.
