10 tornadoes Hit Wisconsin Wednesday, the Most in One Day in Six Years!

The National Weather Service in Green Bay and Milwaukee surveyed the damage from Wednesday. Yesterday at this time, the agency confirmed four tornadoes. The tally is now at 10 after damage assessments from both offices. Nine of those tornadoes struck in NE Wisconsin, close to the Green Bay and Fox Valley area. It’s the single highest tornado total in one year since April 10th of 2011, over six years ago.

Another round of strong to severe storms will be possible come Saturday. Tornadic thunderstorms love boundaries, the separation of cooler/drier with warm/heavier air. This combination will lead to thunderstorms firing Saturday afternoon through the early night hours. All forms of severe weather will be on deck. The Storm Prediction has put a chunk of SE Wisconsin under a *slight* risk, and an *enhanced* risk in our far southern counties.
