1 dead in Kenosha County crash, speed believed to be the cause

BRISTOL, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Authorities identified the victim involved as Ryan J.M. Hoff, a resident of Milwaukee.

BRISTOL, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One person is dead after a crash in Kenosha County Sunday, Jan 16th, 2022.

It happened around 1:05 a.m. near 143rd and Stateline Rd in the village of Bristol. 

According to Kenosha County deputies, a red Chevy Spark was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole and then a tree, causing the vehicle to catch fire. The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. He suffered severe burns and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kenosha County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The victim was identified as a 24-year-old man from Milwaukee. His name is being withheld pending proper notification. The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
