Young harbor seal 'Bosco' makes his debut at the Milwaukee County Zoo

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Zoo's newest member of its harbor seal family made its big debut Thursday, Aug. 27. 

Visitors will be able to see seal pup "Bosco" as he joins the other seal group in the outdoor pool area. 

Bosco was born on June 3. Zookeepers, veterinarians, and animal care staff hand-raised Bosco and assist-fed him after his mother passed away.

One zookeeper says other ways to keep the marine animals safe is to keep our environment and oceans clean. 

"These animals out in the wild are facing pollution, their facing entanglement, garbage, plastic is a huge factor with any marine mammal right now a lot of animals are consuming it so I'd encourage people to try and support regulations and laws that will protect these animals," said Dawn Fleuchaus, Area Supervisor North American Area. 

Bosco will join his brother, Milo, and father, Ringo, in the outdoor exhibit.
