MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- "A place where nobody dared to go. The love that we came to know: they called it Xanadu."
Skylight Music Theatre is aiming to dazzle audiences with the roller disco extravaganza "Xanadu." The stage is being prepared to offer a dynamic show blending nostalgia and modern theatrical flair.
"Xanadu," an adaptation of the cult classic 1980 film starring Olivia Newton-John, will be featured at the Broadway Theatre Center from Friday, Jan. 26 to Feb. 11. Wisconsin's own Doug Clemons, a seasoned actor and now director, joined us on Tuesday, Jan. 16 to preview what he describes as a unique blend of humor, romance and 80s nostalgia.
The production is expected to recreate the 1980s' roller disco vibe, complete with iconic fashion and electrifying music.
The plot revolves around Sonny, an ambitious artist, and Kira, a mysterious Greek muse, as they pursue the dream of creating the world's best artistic roller disco.
