WWE Honky Tonk Man visits Brewers spring training
PHOENIX ARIZONA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- You just never know who will show up at Brewers spring training. This year? WWE Hall of Famer Honky Tonk Man.
He was a guest of Brewers Senior Director of Media Relations Mike Vassallo.
"I try to make it over at least once a year," WWE Hall of Famer Honky Tonk Man says. "God bless him. I always come and do at least a half inning with Bob Uecker on radio. And that was the greatest time of the year to come over and see him. You know. He’s really missed around Milwaukee and the Brewers family."
Thanks to Ueck and Honky Tonk Man at Wrestlemania, pro wrestling became a global phenomenon.
"It’s mushroomed. It’s global," Honky Tonk Man says. "If they open up in Mars? WWE will be there."
So, you are the greatest intercontinental champion of all time. There’s no debate. Who’s the second greatest? Is it this Gunther guy that broke your record? Is it anybody else?
"You never think about number 2," Honky Tonk Man says. "Who cares? If you finish second you might as well finish last. No one cares. You gotta be first."
And let's just say he can still cut a mean promo.
"The greatest team of all time this year is gonna be the Milwaukee Brewers. I can promise you that. The Dodgers are going down. They’re one and done. It’s over for them. It’s over for everybody in that division. It’s gonna be the Brewers. All the way this year," Honky Tonk Man says.
Hey, the Dodgers may have Magic Johnson and Mary Hart. The Brewers have Honky Tonk Man and Kato Kaelin as their super fans.
