Woman Sexually Assaulted by Unknown Man on North Downer Avenue

Shorewood Police Department is looking for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman that he didn’t know.

According to Shorewood Police, the incident happened on Wednesday at 9:35 PM.

The Shorewood Police Department was dispatched to the area of East Wood Place and North Downer Ave for a reported sexual assault.

The victim was walking past an unknown man on the sidewalk and as they passed each other the suspect turned around and told the victim to sit down on the ground.

The suspect then grabbed the victim by the wrist and had the victim sit in the grassy area near the curb.

As the suspect began to touch the victim; the victim struck the suspect in the face and he ran south from the area in the 4100 Blk. N. Downer Ave. 

The suspect was described as light skinned biracial male, 17-25 years old, 5’07”-5’10”, 170lbs-180lbs, short afro style curly hair, last seen wearing long loose fitting dark or khaki colored cargo shorts, dark colored baggy T-shirt, and black rectangular frame glasses.
