WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Wauwatosa Police tell CBS 58 that a woman went into the bathroom at a Starbucks located on Mayfair Road near I-94 Thursday morning shortly before 7 a.m. The woman was in the bathroom for a long time and when she came out the workers described her as erratic. Witnesses say she made "strange comments" to multiple people in the Starbucks.

Police believe the woman was on some type of substance.

When the woman went outside she started throwing rocks and made false allegations that she was assaulted.

The woman got into a car and started driving west on I-94 where she crashed near North 121st Street and fled on foot.

The woman then stole a white F-150 work truck from a construction site in West Allis.

A few minutes later around 7:08 a.m. Elm Grove Police took a call from a citizen in the 14900 block of Lata Vista Drive after someone heard a crash and car alarm going off. The caller believed a burglary was in progress and saw the suspect speed off in the same stolen white F-150.

After a series of hit-and-run crashes in Elm Grove as well as attempting to run down pedestrians, police officers chased the truck when it crashed into a tree on North Avenue at Highland Drive. The driver fled the scene but was chased down by police.

The suspect was arrested and identified as a 22-year-old woman from Delavan. Police are not searching for other suspects.

The woman is currently in police custody and is being referred on multiple charges including reckless endangerment, resisting arrests, hit-and-run and OWI.
