Woman Arrested for OWI while Making Delivery to Jail

A delivery driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated while providing services to the Dane County Jail.

According to Dane County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 11:00 AM on Thursday.

A Consolidated Food Services truck was making a delivery to the Ferris Center at 2120 Rimrock Road.

As the driver, Kari L. Armstrong, age 56 of Monona, turned into the parking lot of the Ferris Center, she struck a fence post, taking off the bumper of the truck.  When deputies working at the Ferris Center began talking to Armstrong, they believed she could be intoxicated and asked her to submit to a breathalyzer and field sobriety tests.  She was subsequently arrested for OWI – 3rd offense.

The Dane County Jail contracts with Consolidated Food Services for inmate meals.  Due to the crash and arrest, food service to inmates in the Public Safety Building was delayed for about one hour and fifteen minutes.
