Woman Arrested after Almost Striking Deputy after Fireworks on Lincoln Memorial Drive
A Milwaukee woman was arrested after July 3 Fireworks for a OWI after almost striking a deputy directing traffic on Lincoln Memorial Drive.
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, around 10:30 PM deputies stopped an Acur a SUV at Lagoon Drive near Lincoln Memorial Drive for failure to obey a traffic officer.
The woman was identified as Soom Boonnam.
Boonnam was taken into custody for her OWI.
The woman had a .16 BAC.
She is already facing OWI-2nd offense charges from a March arrest which has not yet concluded.
The judge ordered absolute sobriety, and no driving without a valid license.
The weekend arrest could be a DUI-3rd offense if she is convicted of the March DUI.
Two children under the age of 16 were in the back seat. Both children, ages 6 and 13, were transported to the Sheriff's Patrol sub-station by a deputy. Child Protective Services was contacted and took custody of the children at 2:30 a.m. Boonnam faces two counts of DUI-2nd with child under 16, with a maximum penalty of up to 1 year in jail, along with traffic citations for Failure to Obey an Officer and Operate While Suspended.
