Wisconsin reports new single-day record of COVID-19 deaths: 128
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- Wisconsin reached yet another grim milestone amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
On Saturday, Jan. 16, Wisconsin health officials reported the new single-day record of COVID-19 deaths: 128 deaths in one day.
The previous record for a single day of COVID-19 deaths was 120 on Dec. 22.
A total of 5,450 people in Wisconsin have died from COVID-19.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services also reported 1,937 new cases and that 103 more people have been hospitalized. This brings the total of positive cases in Wisconsin to 520,188 since the pandemic began.
