Wisconsin DOJ Investigates Circumstances of the Deaths of Two People at an Apartment

MEDFORD, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Department of Justice is assisting in the investigation of two people who were found dead in an apartment in Medford.

Police Chief Ken Coyer says the bodies of the man and woman were found after officers responded to a 911 call Thursday night.

Authorities released few details Friday. But Coyer said in a statement that the circumstances of the deaths led police to contact the DOJ to assist Medford police and the Taylor County Sheriff's Office in the investigation.

The chief says there's no danger to the public.

Medford is about 35 miles northwest of Wausau in north-central Wisconsin.
