The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs is trying to put rumors to rest that it plans to phase out two homeless Veterans programs that lost federal funding.
CBS 58 News first reported on the public outcry just days after federal grants were denied to Union Grove's Cottage 16 and the King facility up north.
A short time later, after several groups including the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association objected and lawmakers demanded an explanation, funding was restored.
And yet Veterans have come to CBS 58 News to ask why no new Veterans are being taken in at either facility.
A spokesperson with the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in Wisconsin tells CBS 58 News that they are not phasing out the programs and are still coming up with a new strategy based on the recent developments.
