Wildlife in Need Center to offer festive up-close wildlife experience
OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wildlife in Need Center in Oconomowoc is blending a festive holiday atmosphere with a unique wildlife experience. The center is hosting a holiday-themed Meet & Greet event, offering visitors the chance to engage with local wildlife on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. until noon.
The event will feature the center's Education Ambassadors getting into the holiday spirit, with the ambassadors being up-close while attendees learn their stories, including interesting facts about their species in Wisconsin. Among the ambassadors that may be featured are Merry Meadow the Bull Snake, Jingle Bell Jewel the Ornate Box Turtle, Fa-La-La Leucius and Let it Snow Lenny the Virginia Opossums, Christmas Evie the Eastern Fox Snake, Caroling Chase the Striped Skunk, Tinsel Twigg, and Winter Willow the Woodchuck.
In addition to the animal encounters, the center's gift shop will be open, offering wildlife-themed seasonal gifts. A holiday bake sale will also be available to serve homemade treats.
A suggested donation of $2 per person is encouraged upon entry. The proceeds from the event will directly support the Wildlife in Need Center and its mission of wild life rehabilitation.
