Whitewater Police Department earns award from Dementia Friendly Initiative

WHITEWATER, Wis. (CBS 58) – The Whitewater Police Department is being recognized for its commitment to education on dementia for responding officers.
The Dementia Friendly Community Initiative, Inc. gave the department the Purple Angel Award.
The group provides free training programs on dementia and Alzheimer’s to those that live and work in Walworth County.
According to the Alzheimer’s Association, in 2020, there will be more than 2,100 people in Walworth County with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
