Whitewater barn fire kills about 200 animals

WHITEWATER -- A Whitewater barn fire killed about 200 farm animals during the morning hours of April 10, 2014. The barn was engulfed in flames and had collapsed by the time Whitewater's fire department arrived.

Firefighters tell us the animals didn't have a chance. The Whitewater Fire Department is still investigating the cause of this fire, but says preliminary reports indicated it was accidental.

The farm owners thought they lost all their animals, but were later reunited with their two nine-month-old Great Pyrenees. The dogs were used for sheep herding.

The dogs brought a little happiness to a tragic day for animal loving farm owners.
