What happens to the 80s?
Well it has been 18 days straight with at least 80+ degree heat. In that stretch we even had two 90 degree days; however, that streak is just about to be over, and now we are talking about a new streak of 70 degree temperatures.
The record string for 80+ degree heat is 22 days! It looks like that should remain intact for now as we start to slide into late summer. Take a look at the picture in this blog. A cool trend is going to take place the next several days.
A storm system over Canada will plunge dry and cooler air south, and that should allow highs to slide back into the 70s with overnight lows in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Over the next 10 days there's not a major pattern swing for unseasonably warm temperatures, so we start out August where we really started the summer of 2015.
