WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- You can support a great cause this weekend, one beer at a time.
From noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22, the Westallion brewery in West Allis will offer free tap beer to encourage donations to a local charity.
The effort will help the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha. It's all to honor Emma Mertens of Hartland. She went viral during her fight against an inoperable brain tumor. The bar's owners say they were inspired by her generosity.
"We decided we wanted to open our hearts and our wallets and help the community, and that's what we've really dedicated ourselves with this brewery and this platform that we were able to build," said owner Kim Dorfner.
On Facebook, the brewery wrote:
"Whether you have one dollar of one hundred in your wallet, we'd like you to come to our taproom and experience how powerful we can be as one people, when we all open our hearts and love one another. And for that, we'd like to thank you, Emma."
The brewery is located at 1825 S. 72nd Street in West Allis.
