MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- There's another leadership change for the Wisconsin Center District in what has been a turbulent year for Milwaukee's downtown convention and entertainment center. 

Peggy Williams-Smith was named interim CEO of the Wisconsin Center District Board Friday, Sept. 25. 

She's been a highly visible and active figure as leader of Visit Milwaukee.

Williams-Smith takes over for Jim Kanter, who was serving in an interim role after Marty Brooks was fired over accusations of misusing funds. 

The Wisconsin Center District operates the Baird Center, UWM Panther Arena and the Miller High Life Theatre.
