West Bend Police: Citations Issued After Crash Involving Three Vehicles and a School Bus
WEST BEND - West Bend Police officers responded to the 1500 block of West Paradise Drive to investigate a report of a crash involving three vehicles in a school bus on Monday afternoon.
According to West Bend Police, the investigation determined two vehicles had stopped in the eastbound lanes at a red traffic control signal on West Paradise Driver. Another eastbound vehicle drove into the rear end of one of the stopped vehicles pushing it forward into the rear end of the other stopped vehicle. A school bus also eastbound on Paradise Drive drove into the rear end of the vehicle that originally struck the two other vehicles.
The school bus was transporting six preschool aged children home from school. The children on the bus were wearing lap seatbelts at the time of the crash. One child sustained a bruise to her knee and was treated at the scene.
The driver of one of the stopped vehicles and a passenger of the other stopped vehicle also complained of minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
There were no other reports of injuries and no one was transported by emergency medical personnel. The children were transferred to another school bus and transported to their homes.
According to the police, the driver of the vehicle that struck the two stopped vehicles and the school bus driver were both cited for Following Too Closely.
