West Allis: Water main break near 84th and Cleveland difficult to locate due to snow

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) --- The City of West Allis reported a water main break by its Streets Division while plowing snow near 84th and Cleveland on Wednesday, Dec. 30.

The city reported it on Facebook around 10:30 a.m.

Barricades are set up and traffic is being rerouted around the work zone.

Officials say the city will be working on the main break for the majority of the day and hope to be done around 3 p.m.

"It may be a little more difficult to locate the break due to the snow fall last night," City of West Allis posted on Facebook.

Officials say the city will most likely need to shut off some services while they repair the break, but will notify property owners as soon as they locate the source of the leak.

Officials say it appears to be two commercial office buildings that may be affected, but due to "out of service valve", additional residential properties will also be shut off. This includes properties on the east side of 84th Street from Cleveland to Arthur Avenue.
