West Allis Police arrest felon with a gun after pursuit, foot chase near 60th and National
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The West Allis Police Department arrested a convicted felon after a traffic stop.
According to police, a 3rd shift officer was on routine patrol overnight when he observed a suspicious vehicle around 60th and National.
When the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle failed to stop and fled from the officer.
A pursuit ensued and stop sticks were deployed. The suspect's vehicle crashed.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was apprehended after a foot chase.
Officers located a large quantity of marijuana and a loaded handgun in the suspect's vehicle.
The suspect, who is a convicted felon from Milwaukee, is on probation and had a warrant for a probation violation.
The suspect was also arrested for operating a motor vehicle while impaired.
