MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - Two Marquette lacrosse players were killed in a collision on Friday night near campus.

Nineteen-year-old Scott Michaud and 20-year-old Noah Snyder were both on the Marquette Lacrosse team.

“Just shock, everyone is still trying to wrap their heads around what happened last night,” Marquette student Coulson Bain said. “I’ve walked by and I’ve seen people completely distraught and it’s heartbreaking.”

The university held a mass at the Varsity Theatre on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 6, to honor the two student athletes.

“It was sad, it was devastating, and as soon as you walked in it just hit you,” Bain said. “This campus is so big but it’s also so small.”

Campus was quiet on Saturday, but students say they are coming together to get through this tragedy.

“We are all together, we’re all going to get through this together,” Marquette Freshman Lucas Delsart said. “Hope is in the air for better days; we’re going to get through it together.”

Students want to remind everyone what Marquette stands for.

“There’s a reason why our mission statement is 'Be the Difference',” Bain said. “Because everyone is the difference.”
