"We Need This"; Dozens Gather for Peace Walk on Milwaukee's Northside

More than 50 people took to the streets of Milwaukee's Lindsay Heights neighborhood Thursday afternoon for a peace walk.

The event was sponsored by numerous community organizations, hoping to promote peace following last weekend's unrest.

"It came from a feeling that we need to celebrate peace, more than our differences," says Dena Eakles. "We have that similarity of peace that we all want."

The event was scheduled months ago, as part of Milwaukee Peace Week, which runs through Sunday.

"We're hoping that people will take the time out of their day to just stop, get to know each other, and try to address some of the issues that we're facing," says Adrian Spencer.
