President Donald Trump praised officers for their heroics during a news conference on Wednesday.
He addressed county sheriffs and police chiefs from across the nation.
During his speech, he referenced Officer Rittner's death.
"Our law enforcement officers risk their lives to defend the lives of others. One week ago, Milwaukee Officer Matthew Rittner was murdered as he led a drug raid. We grieve the loss of these great heroes," said President Trump.
President Trump praised the room full of officers for their continued dedication to the job, saying America loves and appreciates them.
