We Energies discovers body of Milwaukee man who was reported missing in May

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- We Energies discovered the body of a man who was reported missing in May on Thursday, Oct. 7.

Officials say police were called to the wooded area of 76th and Douglas on Thursday around 9 a.m. for the report of human remains found. WE Energies was conducting a 10-year inspection of their equipment that runs over the wooded area near the train tracks. While setting up, they discovered skeletonized human remains, officials say.

The unidentified human remains are believed to belong to 49-year-old Thurmond Triplett who was reported as a critical missing person on May 24, according to officials. Officials say Triplett had a traumatic brain injury as a result of a car crash three months prior to going missing. He had a history of wandering off and has been reported missing before.

The clothes on the skeleton matched the description of what Triplett was wearing the day he went missing, officials say.

According to the Milwaukee County medical examiner, there was no evidence of any illicit drug or alcohol use on scene.
