Wauwatosa Streetscaping Project is Underway

Major streetscaping project is now underway in Wauwatosa.

Work on State Street began Monday morning.

This is a live look at the construction.

Crews are already digging up the street that'll be closed from Monday through Friday between 7 AM and 6 PM.

It will remain open to pedestrians and bicycles.

While the 6-month project will result in an inconvenience to some store owners.

State Street will have a curb-less center village plaza and a European look with trendy street lights.

The mayor of Wauwatosa says the physical makeover is just one part of the project.

The majority of the money is going to be used to update the city infrastructure.
