Waukesha man accused in Meijer hostage incident pleads not guilty by mental disease

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Anthony Lehman, 21, pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect Monday, Aug. 31 on charges connected to a hostage incident at a Meijer grocery store in Waukesha.

According to a criminal complaint about the situation, Lehman was in the men's bathroom at the store when a shopper entered and Lehman declared he was holding the man hostage, armed with a knife and razor blades affixed to a spring clamp tool.

Lehman is due for a psychiatric exam and review hearing Oct. 12.
