Hottest air since the middle of July returns with a chance for strong storms

Almost every day in the week ahead has at least a small chance for showers and storms. And on most days those storms could be strong with the hottest air in over a month returning and adding instability to the atmosphere. Highs on Monday could reach 90 for the first time since the middle of July and even if we don't get to 90 on Monday we have more chances on Tuesday and Wednesday. 

Humidity levels will be high as well to start the week with tropical level humidity expected and dew points in the 70s. Tuesday looks to be the most humid day with dew points reaching the middle 70s and nearing the miserable category on the Muggy Meter. 

The hot highs around 90 combined with the high humidity levels could push feels like temps close to 100 on Monday and even nearing 105 on Tuesday with the higher humidity levels. Wednesday will still be hot with feels like temps in the upper 90s once again. 

One factor that could limit some of our heating will be the storm chances. We woke up to some loud thunderstorms Monday morning. The rain chance the rest of the day could be fairly isolated but a few more showers and storms cannot be completely ruled out. Most weather models are fairly dry for the second half of the day but others show an isolated shower or storm in the late afternoon and evening. 

Any storms that we do see Monday afternoon and evening could be a bit on the stronger side with all of the heat adding instability and fuel to the atmosphere. Most of southeast Wisconsin is included in the Level 1 Marginal risk for severe storms. The tornado risk is not very high but some gusty wind or small hail will be possible.
