WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Waukesha County held their Adoption Day celebration Friday morning, Nov. 7.
They're one of the 400 communities that celebrate and finalize adoptions every November.
National Adoption Day raises awareness for kids waiting to be adopted from foster care, and on Friday, a little boy named Carson was legally adopted by his stepfather, Austin.
He tells us it was a little nerve-racking and that a lot of paperwork was involved.
"It feels really good for me, but I'm sure it feels better for my mom and Austin, because they had to file all that paperwork," Carson says. "I was asking if I could go play outside and they were like, we have to finish all this paperwork, so when it was done, I was like, yes! Because it's over, finally."
National Adoption Day is officially on Nov. 22.
Congrats to Carson and family!
