Watertown police investigating possible explosive device in downtown area; no more threat to public
WATERTOWN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- On Thursday, May 29, around 7:06 p.m. the Watertown Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious object on a gas meter, which was believed to be an explosive device.
Law enforcement secured the scene, restricted access and began evacuation of nearby residents.
The device was determined not to be an actual explosive.
No further details have been released at this time as the investigation remains active.

Law enforcement is working on securing the scene and evacuating residents in the nearby area.
