As thunderstorms moved up the coast of Lake Michigan the difference in temperatures between the lake water and the air above caused some brief rotation allowing the waterspout to form.
Boats and other watercraft should stay away from waterspouts.
More waterspouts may be possible the rest of Friday as some storms continue.
