Water Drop Alerts

Spring is here and that means more days with rain back in the forecast. On Earth Day, members of the Watershed Team of Common Ground held a conference to roll out a new Water Drop Alert system. CBS58 weather was at the Metropolitan Sewerage District here in Milwaukee to hear the plan. The idea revolves around heavy rain events in the area and how to prevent sewer overflows. The Water Drop Alerts work by informing the general public when heavy rain events are in the forecast. And when sewer overflows are in progress or imminent we can partner with them to help get the word out to the public. In the coming months look to hear more about this new plan. The best way you can help is to limit water usage during heavy rain events with the goal of preventing sewer overflows and keeping good water quality for all of us to enjoy.
