Watch: Delavan police rescue dog stranded in ice

DELAVAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Delavan Police Department shared a heroic video of an officer saving a dog that had fallen through ice on Tuesday, Dec. 24.

The department says the dog was stranded about 40 yards off shore, shivering and whimpering while struggling to pull itself out of the water. 

Officer Runge had a dry suit and offered to assist. He made his way out onto the ice and safely retrieved the dog from the lake.
