Washington County Park Beach Closed due to High E. Coli

UPDATE: As of Friday Washington County received one clean test back, but a second is needed before the beach can be opened to the public.

Ackerman Grove County Park's beach in Washington County closed August 26th due to high levels of E. Coli.

Water samples are taken every week during the summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Washington County's website says, \"The monitoring program is intended to inform people of relative levels of safety only. Samples are taken once a week, in one location. A sign will be posted if E.coli is found above the advisory level...\"

A beach is only closed when E. Coli levels are above 1000 CFU/100mL.

Washington County will update their Facebook Page when E. Coli returns to safe levels.
