Warning for Us: High Fire Danger

We're under a high fire danger even though some patches of snow are still on the ground.

Dry, brittle winter brush can go up in flames after just a few seconds. The fact we have been below with snowfall and rainfall over the last four months only adds to the situation.

The Greenfield Fire Department gave us a demonstration on how fast brown grass behind its station can go up in smoke.  Firefighters say you need to be proactive, especially if you live near woods or fields.

If you have any questions about burning ordinances where you live, you should contact your city, town, or municipality.
