Wanted: Construction workers for Northwestern Mutual tower build

City residents thinking about a career in construction can learn more about available opportunities on the upcoming Northwestern Mutual tower build at a job fair today.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and a presentation begins at 6 p.m. at the Washington Park Senior Center, 4420 W. Vliet Street. A resource fair follows the presentation at 7 p.m.

Common Council President Michael Murphy says the $450 million project requires several skilled construction workers over the next five years.

Information on training and trade apprenticeship opportunities needed to start a career in construction will be available. The job fair will also offer resources to address barrier to employment -- such as lack of driver's license or GED.

The event is free and open to the public.

For more information, call the Wisconsin Regional training Partnership/BIG STEP at (414) 342-9787.
