Glendale man sentenced to 17 years in prison for May 18 homicide
LAGRANGE (CBS 58) -- Walworth County officials are investigating a fatal boat explosion that occurred on Lauderdale Lake in the town of La Grange.
Authorities were called to the scene on Friday, April 1, at 12:33 p.m. They discovered a pontoon boat located off the shoreline of Stewart Drive with significant damage.
Three male victims were located. Of those three, one was transported to a local trauma center with severe injuries, another male was treated for his injuries and the third male was pronounced dead at the scene by the Walworth County Medical Examiner's Office.
The victims worked for a local pier service company and were installing a new pier when the explosion happened. Their names are not being released at this time.
The Walworth County Hazardous Materials Unit assisted with fuel spillage.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation and more information may be released as the investigation continues.
