Walker says no last-minute pardons coming

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Outgoing Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says he will not be pardoning anyone in his final days in office.

The Republican Walker never pardoned anyone over his eight years as governor. He is being replaced Monday by Democrat Tony Evers.

Evers told The Associated Press earlier this week that he is open to pardoning people who prove they have been rehabilitated.

Walker told the AP on Friday that he's been approached by people since his defeat to consider pardoning them in his final days in office. But Walker says he will not change course and no pardons are coming.
