WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease. It's the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. Someone develops Alzheimer’s every 65 seconds, according to the Alzheimer's Association.
On September 15th and 16th, you can help raise awareness and funding for research in our area at the Walk to End Alzheimer's. On Saturday morning, hundreds will walk in Lake Geneva, beginning at Liberty Park. CBS 58 Anchor Kate Chappell is the honorary walker.
In Milwaukee, thousands will gather to support the cause on Sunday at Henry Maier Festival Park.
The walk is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
For more information or how to find a walk near you, click here. There is no fee to register, but participants are encouraged to fundraise in order to contribute to the cause and raise awareness.
